UL Standards, a member and audited designator of the American National Standards Institute (ANSI), has announced a number of organizational assignments.
John Thompson is the new vice president-international standards policy, responsible for outreach and leadership within the U.S. National Committee (USNC) of the International Electrotechnical Commission (IEC), the International Organization for Standardization (ISO), and other international organizations. Mr. Thompson will continue to lead the USNC as the USNC president.
Dan Ryan is the new director-standards programs, responsible for the technical development and maintenance of all UL and ULC consensus standards. Mr. Ryan will lead a team of program managers and consensus body chairs in the management of UL's standards programs in support of UL's mission.
Sarah Brooks is the new director-standards operations, responsible for the management and coordination of the operational aspects of the standards development process. Ms. Brooks will lead a team of operations managers supporting people leadership and development initiatives as well as driving continuous process and systems-related improvements.
Sonya Bird has been named director-international standards, responsible for international and emerging markets. Ms. Bird will continue in her role as USNC vice presidenttechnical.
