May 21 ANSI Cities Network Webinar to Highlight City Protocol

5/11/2015

Session will focus on collaborative innovation framework for city solution-development

City Protocol, a collaborative innovation framework that fosters city-centric solutions that benefit citizens and their quality of life, will be the topic of this month's webinar hosted by the American National Standards Institute (ANSI) Network on Smart and Sustainable Cities (ANSSC). The webinar will take place May 21 from 2 to 3:30 pm EDT with guest speaker Sue Lebeck of City Protocol.

City Protocol provides a common systems view for cities of any size or type - the City Anatomy. From that foundation, City Protocol embraces or develops protocols that will help innovators create - and modern cities deploy - cross-sectorial solutions that can connect and/or break city silos. City Protocol works across diverse cities by interconnecting them and ultimately creating the "Internet of Cities."

Sue Lebeck is chair of the City Protocol Task Force (CPTF), an open community of individuals working to create an interoperable framework supporting common city solution-development. The task force is hosted by the City Protocol Society (CPS), a global non-profit community of cross-sector city-centered members, founded in Barcelona, Spain, and organized in San Ramon, California. Sue Lebeck is a contributor to GreenBiz VERGE, a knowledge platform at the intersection of sustainability, technology, business, and cities; and technology advisor to the Cool City Challenge, a social innovation initiative that seeks to take low-carbon and resilient living to scale within cities, block by block. A computer scientist and psychologist by training, Ms. Lebeck's expertise spans software technology engineering and program management, creative process facilitation and organizational development, innovation management, collaborative R&D, and the evolution of smart and sustainable businesses and cities.

Join us for the ANSSC session to learn about City Protocol, including its brief history and organization, protocol development strategy, recent achievements, what cities and city-solution providers can anticipate, and how to participate.
