In an effort to help tackle these concerns, the American National Standards Institute (ANSI) has teamed with the U.S.-China Business Council (USCBC) in support of a new U.S. Department of Commerce project on conformity assessment issues in China.
The project aims to facilitate a series of roundtable discussions with U.S. and Chinese industry, government, and conformity assessment practitioners to address concerns expressed by U.S. companies.
The kick-off meeting for this project was held March 9, 2010, at the Department of Commerce. In the coming months, the project is slated to cover a variety of activities in both the U.S. and China, including targeted outreach to company representatives in Beijing and Shanghai.
Stakeholders are invited to provide their suggestions for specific issues related to conformity assessment in China that may be addressed during this project.
