Boosting Innovation through Standards: Register for Brussels CEN-CENELEC Event

8/26/2019

Free event on November 13

The American National Standards Institute (ANSI) encourages relevant stakeholders to register for the CEN-CENELEC European Conference on "Boosting Innovation through Standards" on November 13, 2019, in Brussels. The event aims to boost the market uptake of innovation and research outcomes, using standardization as an enabler.

Leading experts in innovation and standardization will present their experiences in linking the two worlds and highlighting how each one is benefiting from the other. Additionally, thematic parallel sessions will allow detailed insight into the various aspects of standardization by providing an overview on:

  • The landscape of standards, stakeholders tools, and international aspects
  • How patents and standards support researchers and innovators
  • Ideas for making the CEN-CENELEC processes to meet the target communities' expectations better
  • How to integrate standardization in research programs
  • How standardization can support boosting innovation
  • Key messages for research and innovation enablers

CEN, the European Committee for Standardization, and CENELEC, the European Committee for Electrotechnical Standardization, provide a platform for the development of European Standards and other technical specifications across a wide range of sectors. The two committees also cooperate with the International Organization for Standardization (ISO) and the International Electrotechnical Commission (IEC) to reach agreements on common standards that can be applied throughout the whole world, thereby facilitating international trade.

ANSI is the U.S. member body to ISO, and via its U.S. National Committee, the IEC.

Free registration is open on the CEN-CENELEC conference webpage.
