People on the Move

8/21/2020

People on the Move highlights the career advancements of high-level trailblazers working professionally in diverse areas of standardization, contributing every day to the strength and success of the U.S. standards and conformance community.

The Plastics Industry Association (PLASTICS), a member and accredited standards developer of the American National Standards Institute (ANSI), has announced two promotions for leaders in the organization's sustainability activities.

Ashley Hood-Morley is the new senior director of sustainability and materials. In this role, Ms. Hood-Morley will oversee all projects and programs related to materials, sustainability, and recycling initiatives of PLASTICS.

Ms. Hood-Morley has worked for PLASTICS for more than five years. Previously, she was with Eastman Chemical Company as a staff engineer, then managing product stewardship, for a seven-year tenure. She brings with her extensive experience working with material suppliers and sustainability programs.

Patrick Krieger has been promoted to the role of director of sustainability and materials. He will be responsible for sustainability initiatives such as Operation Clean Sweep, New End Market Opportunities, and Marine Debris, as well as the Bioplastics Division that he currently oversees.

Mr. Krieger has spent five years working for PLASTICS, coming to the organization from the Animal Health Institute. There, he managed regulatory affairs and primarily supported the Veterinary Biologics Section.

"Our industry and our members continue to put extra energy into developing more sustainability initiatives," said Glenn Anderson, PLASTICS vice president, industry relations and member engagement. "That is one of the reasons why we have increased the talent in this area with the promotions of Ashley and Patrick. They both have a strong background in our industry and will energize our initiatives to develop a robust sustainability platform in support of our members and the industry as a whole."

The organization has announced that it has plans for further additions to its sustainability department in the future.
