Movers and Shakers highlights the career advancements and accomplishments of leaders in diverse areas of standardization, contributing to the strength and success of the U.S. standards and conformance system.
The Illuminating Engineering Society (IES) recently appointed Carolyn Woods as its director of membership. She will lead strategic initiatives to enhance member engagement, retention, and growth.
Woods brings more than a decade of association management expertise. Most recently, Woods was the director of communications and ministry care at Accounting Beyond Borders, where she led stakeholder engagement strategies and spearheaded new fundraising initiatives that resulted in significant donation increases.
Previously, Woods was the senior membership manager at the American Society for Parental & Enteral Nutrition. There, she led membership growth initiatives and managed a diverse network of local chapters as well as specialty-specific groups.

The International Code Council (ICC) has appointed Gosia Furman as its chief financial officer.
In this role, Furman directs the company’s financial planning, reporting, budgeting, treasury, and working capital management through data-driven analytics and forecasting, innovative process improvements, and strategic resource allocation.
Furman has been with ICC since 2010, most recently serving as vice president of finance and administration.
Previously, Furman worked as the senior treasury analyst for the Metropolitan Pier and Exposition Authority, where she directed treasury management and other vital financial tasks.
