Prior to joining the subcommittee, Dr. Jester spent six years on the personal staff of Congressman Vernon Ehlers (R-MI) focusing on science and energy policy issues. Before coming to Capitol Hill, she completed a fellowship at the American Chemical Society, where she was responsible for managing issues relating to science policy changes following the September 11 terrorist attacks.
Dr. Jester earned her Ph.D. in applied science and master's degree in chemistry from the College of William and Mary. She was an AAAS summer research fellow at the RAND Science and Technology Policy Institute in 2002, and a recipient of the Virginia Space Grant Consortium award from 2001-2003.
