China notified the World Trade Organization (WTO) in October 2010 of proposed revisions to legislation guiding its use of toxic and hazardous materials in electronic and electrical products. The event on February 23 provided a venue for open, cross-sector discussion of the proposed revisions. Speakers included representatives of Chinese government agencies and groups involved with the RoHS implementation, including the Ministry of Industry and Information Technology (MIIT), the Certification and Accreditation Administration (CNCA), and the China Electronics Standards Institute (CESI), as well as industry leaders from IBM, Intertek, Dell, and IPC.
The report is available for download from the ANSI Member Library here. For more information on the ANSI Manufacturer Member Roundtable in China and standards activities related to China, visit the ANSI Standards Portal.
