ISO to Hold Workshop on Evaluation Capacity Development

Workshop will kick off development of International Workshop Agreement

The American National Standards Institute (ANSI) would like to inform all interested stakeholders of an upcoming International Organization for Standardization (ISO) workshop on evaluation capacity development (ECD). To be held on October 17-21 in Geneva, the workshop is intended to kick off the development of an International Workshop Agreement (IWA) to set a common understanding and benchmark for ECD for assistance programs.

Resolution 62/208 of the United Nations (U.N.) General Assembly called for countries receiving development assistance to have greater leadership and ownership in evaluating assistance, and requested the U.N. to intensify efforts to strengthen evaluation capacities in these countries. The IWA is expected to have broad appeal to program and evaluation staff from non-governmental organizations, consultancies, national and international donor agencies, U.N. agencies, as well as organizations from countries currently receiving capacity building.

The workshop partners organizing and supporting this event include the Evaluation Capacity Development Group (ECDG), the Joint Committee on Standards for Educational Evaluation (JCSEE), and the International Organization for Cooperation In Evaluation (IOCE).
