, an organizational member and accredited standards developer of the American National Standards Institute
(ANSI), has announced the appointment of Rodney Spady
as senior director, digital marketing and communications. Mr. Spady will lead the teams responsible for IEEE's branding, corporate communications, public visibility initiatives, creative services, and social media. Mr. Spady previously served as director of integrated marketing and media for Johnson and Johnson Inc.'s (J&J) global marketing group, where he focused on digital marketing and media efforts for J&J's over-the-counter and nutritional brands. Prior to J&J he was director of global digital marketing and chief web officer for Novartis Consumer Health. His experience also includes nearly 20 years in telecommunications marketing at companies such as Lucent Technologies, Global Crossing, Interconnect Services Group, MCI Telecommunications, and NanoOpto Corporation. Mr. Spady holds a bachelor's degree in communications from Seton Hall University. IEEE is a professional association representing a wide array of technology areas including aerospace systems, computers and telecommunications, biomedical engineering, electric power, and consumer electronics. IEEE publishes 30 percent of the world's literature in the electrical and electronics engineering and computer science fields and produces technology standards, technical conferences, and professional and educational activities.
