People on the Move spotlights trailblazers in standardization, highlighting their latest achievements, advancements, and contributions to the standards community.

The IAPMO Group, an American National Standards Institute (ANSI) member and audited designator, has named Christopher Lindsay as its manager for government relations. Mr. Lindsay previously worked as director of programs for the Electrical Safety Foundation International (ESFI), where he collaborated successfully with federal agencies and the National Electrical Manufacturers Association (NEMA). Prior to that, he served as a special assistant in the White House's Office of Faith-Based and Community Initiatives. He is a graduate of Brigham Young University and has served as the director of the Operation Kids Foundation, the Clear Horizons Academy, and the Charity Squared Foundation.

The IAPMO Group was formed in 1936 as the International Association of Plumbing and Mechanical Officials to protect public health and safety by working with government and industry on the implementation of comprehensive plumbing and mechanical systems around the world.

The Rehabilitation Engineering and Assistive Technology Society of North America (RESNA), an ANSI member and accredited standards developer, has appointed Jenifer Simpson as project director for its Accessible Technology Action Center (ATAC). Ms. Simpson will oversee the launch of ATAC, a new project funded by the U.S. Department of Labor (DOL)'s Office of Disability Employment Policy with the goal of advancing employment for people with disabilities through the use of technology.

Ms. Simpson, a prominent accessible technology strategist, previously served as senior director for government affairs at the American Association of People with Disabilities (AAPD). She has also worked , on related issues for the Federal Communications Commission (FCC) and the President's Committee on Employment of People with Disabilities, among other organizations. Ms. Simpson co-founded the Coalition for Accessible Technology (COAT). She received her BA in art and communication from the University of Massachusetts and her MBA from Trinity University.
