American National Standards Institute (ANSI) member the American Health Information Management Association (AHIMA) has announced the appointment of Deborah Green as the organization's chief operating officer (COO) and executive vice president for operations, and the promotion of Denise Froemming to the position of chief financial officer (CFO) and executive vice president. In her new position, Ms. Green will manage the organization's business innovation, advocacy and policy, health information management (HIM) solutions, and marketing divisions, while Ms. Froemming will oversee AHIMA's finance and administration departments.
Prior to joining AHIMA, Ms. Green served as the chief information officer (CIO) at LaVie Care, and oversaw systems strategy and other initiatives for Mariner Post-Acute Network, which is now known as Sava Senior Care. Before beginning work at AHIMA in 2011 Ms. Froemming had previous worked in a variety of positions at the College of American Pathologists (CAP); she served as AHIMA's director of accounting, tax, and operations prior to her promotion. Ms. Froemming received her bachelor of science degree from Wisconsin's Marquette University and her MBA from Northern Illinois University, while Ms. Green earned a bachelor of science from the University of Texas Medical Branch and her MBA from George State University.
AHIMA is a nonprofit organization serving the interests of more than 67,000 HIM professionals. The organization plays a leadership role in the effective management of health data and medical records, with a particular focus on the implementation of electronic health records (EHRs) and other key industry initiatives.
ANSI-accredited standards developer and organizational member the Portland Cement Association (PCA) has named Edward J. Sullivan to the position of group vice president. As part of his new duties, which he will carry out in conjunction with the responsibilities associated with his role as PCA's chief economist, Mr. Sullivan will oversee the association's market development, research and technical services, and communications departments.
Prior to joining PCA in 2002, Mr. Sullivan was a partner at Wexford Management Consultants, where he provided economic and market analysis for a number of large corporations. He has also worked as a senior intelligence officer for the U.S. Central Intelligence Agency (CIA), and as an economist in the office of the late U.S. Senator Edward M. Kennedy.
PCA, a nonprofit organization based in Washington, DC, represents cement companies in both the U.S. and Canada. On behalf of its members, PCA carries out market development, public affairs, and educational work, while also supporting research into cement-related subject areas.
