The American National Standards Institute (ANSI) Energy Efficiency Standardization Coordination Collaborative (EESCC) is moving into the next phase of its effort to develop a standardization roadmap advancing energy efficiency in the built environment. The collaborative's five working groups (WGs) have scheduled a series of June-July workshops in Washington, DC, to begin the gap analysis and roadmapping phases of work. Stakeholder organizations interested in joining this effort are encouraged to visit www.ansi.org/eescc and to contact eescc@ansi.org. The EESCC is a cross-sector group working to increase the awareness, adoption, and implementation of standards, codes, and conformance programs among policy makers and the market. More than 140 technical experts from more than 50 member organizations and 4 federal agencies are currently involved.
The EESCC roadmap will identify current and forthcoming standards, codes, and conformance programs, pinpoint potential gaps, and articulate what additional standardization activities may be needed to advance energy efficiency relative to the built environment. The first draft of the EESCC roadmap is expected by October 2013, with the final version anticipated for publication by mid-2014.

During its information-gathering phase, the collaborative collected input on more than 500 documents, 150 conformance programs, and a dozen perceived gaps via the EESCC Inventory Database. As a cornerstone tool of the collaborative's efforts, the EESCC Inventory will play a critical role in the development of the roadmap. To help ensure a complete and accurate inventory, stakeholders are invited to review the EESCC Inventory Database and to contribute additional relevant information, including perceived gaps, for consideration by the working groups. The ANSI Energy Efficiency Standardization Coordination Collaborative (EESCC) is a cross-sector, neutral forum and focal point for broad-based coordination among energy efficiency activities involving or impacted by standardization (i.e., standards, codes, conformance activities) and regulations.
