Experts from the public and private sectors will discuss issues connected to implementation of interoperable images by the U.S. Transportation Security Administration (TSA), and a representative of the TSA will deliver a keynote speech covering the development and use of standard data interfaces for security systems. A draft agenda for the workshop is forthcoming.
Since 2003, ANSI-HDSSC has worked with the Department of Homeland Security (DHS) to bolster the development of voluntary standards related to homeland security and emergency preparedness. The collaborative recently amended its charter to reflect an additional focus on standardization needs for homeland defense and the security sector.
The September 17 workshop is open to all ANSI and ANSI-HDSSC members, constituents, and other relevant stakeholders. Representatives of standards developing organizations, federal agencies, research and development bodies, academia, airport operators, and hardware, software, algorithm, and interface manufacturers are strongly encouraged to attend. There is no cost to take part in the meeting, which will be held at the Capital Conference Center at the offices of the System Planning Corporation (3601 Wilson Boulevard, 6th floor, Arlington, Virginia 22201) - but all attendees are required to register for the event by Friday, August 30, 2013, due to space constraints.
