This two-day workshop is designed to introduce interested stakeholders to the international standard ISO/IEC 17065, Conformity assessment — Requirements for bodies certifying products, processes and services, the international benchmark for product certification. The course will be led by longtime ANSI assessors Marlene Moore and Robert Miller, and will be supported by Reinaldo Figueiredo, ANSI senior program director for product and process accreditation, and Nikki Jackson, senior manager for ANSI's product certification accreditation program.
Through the use of class exercises and practical examples, participants will gain a comprehensive understanding of the accreditation requirements contained in ISO/IEC 17065. They will gain insight into the types of documents and other content that can be used to demonstrate compliance with these requirements, and how content is examined during an assessment. Participants will also be given an overview of ANSI's accreditation process, which makes effective use of both ISO/IEC 17065 and ISO/IEC 17011, Conformity assessment — General requirements for accreditation bodies accrediting conformity assessment bodies. They will also be shown how to carry out an effective self-assessment, allowing organizations to proactively identify possible gaps in internal procedures related to product certification.
ANSI encourages representatives of government agencies, industry, nonprofit organizations, certification programs, and other individuals who are interested in learning more about ISO/IEC 17065 and the ANSI accreditation process to attend. Participants will receive copies of ISO/IEC 17065 and ISO/IEC 17000 following payment of their course fee and are asked to review both standards before attending.
Participation in the workshop costs $875 for ANSI members and $975 for non-members. To register online, visit the workshop registration page for either the August 7-8 or November 11 -12 session.
