February Webinar: What is an American National Standard Anyway?

2/03/2015

The American National Standards Institute (ANSI) will host a free informational webinar underscoring the process and meaning of the American National Standard designation on Thursday, February 26, 2015, at 2pm EST.The session, titled "What is an American National Standard Anyway?" is open to consumers, industry and government professionals, standards users, and anyone seeking more information on ANS development.

ANSI fosters the U.S. standardization system by accrediting the procedures of standard-setting organizations and subsequently approving individual documents as American National Standards (ANS). There are more than 235 ANSI-Accredited Standards Developers committed to the creation and maintenance of voluntary consensus standards. Such standards are used in a wide spectrum of applications and processes in virtually every industry.

The webinar will provide a basic informative overview of ANS procedures, ANSI's accreditation role, and the role of ANSI-Accredited Standards Developers. Participants will learn how stakeholders get involved in voluntary consensus standards development, and find out more about the ANSI Essential Requirements that govern the process.

To find out more about the webinar, prospective participants with questions can contact [email protected]. Advanced registration is required for the free webinar, which will be open for Q&A during and after the session.
