People on the Move spotlights trailblazers in standardization, highlighting their latest achievements, advancements, and contributions to the standards and conformance community.
The International Association of Continuing Education and Training (IACET), a member and accredited standards developer of the American National Standards Institute (ANSI), has named Joe McClary its new CEO.
Previously, Mr. McClary was the CEO of the Kentucky Association of Realtors, where he contributed greatly to writing and passing professional education legislation for the state's real estate licensees. He has also served as the first executive director of the International Distance Education Certification Center (IDECC), an organization that develops distance learning standards. Mr. McClary has experience as an adult educator, college instructor, and high school teacher, and holds multiple graduate level degrees in education.
"The IACET Board of Directors has a strong desire to strengthen our commitment to our members, and to lead high quality continuing education in the global arena by setting the international standard for the corporate education and training," said Dr. Sandra Williams, IACET chair. "Joe was selected to direct our organization forward both strategically and operationally due to his diverse leadership skill set, his footprint in international training, and his passion for educational excellence."
ICC Evaluation Service (ICC-ES) has appointed Danny Wong as technical staff lead for its building products listing program. In this role, Mr. Wong will lead all technical activities and oversee the evaluation of products.
Mr. Wong brings over 18 years of experience to the position, with expertise on photovoltaic (PV) racking systems, steel fabrication and erection, steel joists, metal decking, engineered wood products, wood construction connectors, and wood, steel, and aluminum fasteners. A licensed civil engineer and active member of the American Society of Civil Engineers (ASCE) an ANSI member and accredited standards developer Mr. Wong is very knowledgeable about ICC codes and seismic and wind design load provisions.
"We are very excited about the fast growing Building Product Listing Program and Danny is the right person to be the technical lead." said Shahin Moinian, ICC-ES president. "Danny's nimble and flexible method of handling clients and projects coupled with his high quality technical skills will enable him to give the clients the service they deserve."
ICC-ES is a subsidiary of the International Code Council (ICC), an ANSI member and accredited standards developer.
