ICC is calling for stakeholder feedback on a proposed revision to the International Code Council's (ICC) Council Policy 28 Code Development, which requires that a standard must be updated in order to be included in a subsequent edition of the International Codes. All input on the proposed draft revision, which can be submitted here, must be received by November 13, 2015.
More than 1,400 standards are referenced in the I-Codes, including many American National Standards. The ICC Board is considering a proposed revision, which reads in part:
3.6.3.2 The standard shall be developed and maintained through a consensus process such as ASTM or ANSI.
3.6.3.2.1 Updated standards to be referenced in the 2021 Edition and following Editions of the I-Codes. For standards to be updated in accordance with Section 4.6, the consensus process shall provide an option for anyone to submit or comment on a proposed revision without cost, and proposed revisions shall be published in a manner that is available to the public without cost.
Access the proposed revisions here and click here to submit feedback on the revision before the November 13 deadline.
