ANSI Solicits Private-Sector Participants for June Executive Roundtable on U.S.-China Strategic Cooperation with SAC Administrator Tian Shihong

4/17/2017

ANSI Member Submissions Due by Friday, April 21

The American National Standards Institute (ANSI) will host a high-level Chinese delegation at its Washington, DC, headquarters on June 9, 2017. Sitting Administrator of the Standardization Administration of China (SAC) Tian Shihong is scheduled to visit and participate in ANSI's Executive Roundtable on U.S.-China Strategic Cooperation, an opportunity for industry representatives to share perspectives on standardization areas of mutual priority, and to identify potential areas for deepened exchange between the U.S. and China. ANSI seeks roundtable participants by Friday, April 21.

The roundtable is scheduled for June 9 from 1 p.m. to 4 p.m. and is open to limited ANSI member participation from the private sector. A draft agenda for the roundtable is available online. As indicated, the roundtable includes several speaking slots for U.S. private-sector representatives to share their industry perspective and expertise, and serves as an opportunity to enhance U.S.-China strategic standardization cooperation.

ANSI is currently soliciting interested ANSI members to fill these speaking slots at the roundtable. Interested members are requested to send the following information to ANSI ([email protected]) no later than Friday, April 21.

  • Name, title, and organization of proposed speaker (the title of the speaker should reflect the high-level nature of this delegation).

  • Specific opportunity or challenge under U.S.-China strategic cooperation the speaker would like to present.

  • The speaker's primary objective in presenting his/her subject.

  • Indicate whether anyone else from the speaker's organization will accompany the speaker. (Please note that space for non-speaker participants is very limited and subject to ANSI's discretion.)

SAC has provided a list of potential subjects of interest, although subjects proposed for presentations at the Roundtable do not need to adhere to this list.

  • Standardization in energy efficiency and energy management

  • Technology and standards for the hydrogen energy industry

  • Standards relating to a green supply chain

  • Standards cooperation for electric balance cars (i.e., hoverboards)

  • Smart cities

  • IT

Once the deadline has passed, ANSI will review the submitted expressions of interest and select the final list of presenters and presentations. Additional details to follow.
