The American National Standards Institute (ANSI) is seeking participants in the ANSI-accredited U.S. Technical Advisory Group (TAG) for International Organization for Standardization (ISO) Technical Committee (TC) 135 on Non-destructive testing. All U.S. stakeholder organizations in relevant fields and industries are strongly encouraged to get involved.
As the U.S. member body to ISO, ANSI accredits U.S. TAGs to develop and transmit U.S. positions on ISO technical activities. ANSI member and accredited standards developer the American Society for Nondestructive Testing (ASNT) serves as the ANSI-accredited administrator of the U.S. TAG to ISO TC 135.
The scope of the work of ISO TC 135 is standardization covering non-destructive testing as applied generally to constructional materials, components and assemblies, by means of a glossary of terms, methods of test and performance specifications for testing equipment and ancillary apparatus. (Excluded are quality levels and specifications for electrical equipment and apparatus, which fall within the range of International Electrotechnical Commission [IEC] committees.)
