The American National Standards Institute (ANSI) encourages relevant stakeholders to attend an International Organization for Standardization (ISO) workshop focused on the development of an International Workshop Agreement (IWA) on Competence for Standards Professionals: in Companies and in Standards-Specialty Organizations.
Hosted by the Korean Agency and Technology and Standards (KATS) and Korean Standards Association (KSA), the workshop will be held in Busan, South Korea, on October 25-26, 2018. The registration deadline is August 30, 2018, and participants can sign up via the registration link.
IWA Background
Capacity building and education are important for workforces in companies, standards developing committees, and national standards bodies. The IWA proposal is designed to collect common efforts at national, regional, and international levels and to develop commonly agreed competence requirements. The information collected will be a useful asset for companies and national bodies in capacity building of standards professionals.
Registrants for IWA workshops are not required to be appointed by an ISO national member body, but it is advised that they notify their participation to their national ISO member body before they register. ANSI is the U.S. member body to ISO.
Access the IWA circular letter for more information.
