The American National Standards Institute (ANSI) encourages relevant stakeholders to register for the U.S.-Africa Clean Energy Standards Program, sponsored by the U.S. Trade and Development Agency (USTDA) and coordinated by ANSI in partnership with Power Africa. The workshop on October 1 in Kigali, Rwanda, will feature presentations by experts from the U.S. and across the Eastern Africa Power Pool (EAPP) on critical aspects of energy system integration. It will also foster discussions on opportunities in the Rwandan market, as well as crosscutting issues affecting the East African region.
The workshop (see flyer) is a response to the heightened global focus on building infrastructure and creating and enabling policies and regulations for the interconnection of grids, as nations attempt to implement climate change commitments, increase energy security, and reduce electricity costs.
The event will take place on October 1, from 9:00 a.m to 5:00 p.m. at the Kigali Radisson in Kigali.
To register, email [email protected] with name, title, organization, contact email, and telephone number.
About the U.S.-Africa Clean Energy Standards Program
The USTDA U.S. - Africa Clean Energy Standards Program (CESP) provides a forum through which industry and government representatives from the U.S. and Sub-Saharan Africa can:
Beginning in 2016, ANSI coordinated an initial three workshops over an 18-month period in Sub-Saharan Africa under the CESP Phase I. These workshops covered a wide range of technologies and challenges in the clean energy area. Workshop topics were chosen in coordination with relevant industry associations, ANSI, and USTDA. CESP was renewed for a second phase in 2017. During Phase II, ANSI will coordinate five workshops for completion by September 2019 under the USTDA CESP. More information on USTDA can be found here.
