Revised Conflict of Interest Policy and New Code of Conduct for ANSI Volunteers, Representatives, and Participants Published

12/14/2018
The American National Standards Institute (ANSI) has published a revised Conflict of Interest Policy and a new Code of Conduct for volunteers, members, staff, and other participants to follow when acting on behalf of the Institute. Both documents were approved at the December 5, 2018, ANSI Board of Directors meeting in Washington, DC.

Developed with input from ANSI members, the revised Conflict of Interest Policy is aligned with the Institute's Constitution and Bylaws and supplements existing policies and best practices. It complements, but does not replace, conflict-of-interest policies currently in place for many of the Institute's policy and program oversight groups and committees. It contains a Conflict of Interest Disclosure form.

The new Code of Conduct expands upon and replaces the Code of Ethics previously published.

"ANSI is committed to continually reviewing and refining our codes and policies to ensure integrity and excellence in all of the diverse activities we undertake in support of our mission," said S. Joe Bhatia, ANSI president and CEO.

The Conflict of Interest Policy and Code of Conduct can be found in the "Structure and Management" section of the "About ANSI" pages of ANSI Online.
