Michael D. Hsu Elected Chairman of Kimberly-Clark

Kimberly-Clark Corporation, an ANSI member, has announced that chief executive officer Michael D. Hsu has been elected to the additional role of Chairman of the company's Board of Directors effective January 1, 2020. Mr. Hsu succeeds Thomas J. Falk, who plans to retire from the company and the Board at the end of the year after serving as Chairman for the past 16 years.

Speaking on behalf of the Board of Directors, Ian Read, independent lead director, said, "As part of the Board's ongoing focus on succession planning, both Mike and Tom have worked closely with the Board to plan this transition. Since joining the Board in 2017, Mike has demonstrated strong leadership of Kimberly-Clark's business and championed a strategy to deliver balanced, sustainable growth. We are confident that Mike will do an excellent job leading our Board."

Scott Powell Assumes New COO Role at Wells Fargo

Wells Fargo & Company, an ANSI member, has selected Scott Powell as their new chief operating officer to focus on operational excellence and regulatory matters. He will serve on the company's Operating Committee and report directly to CEO and president Charlie Scharf. Powell most recently was CEO of Santander Holdings USA, Inc. as well as CEO of Santander Consumer USA Holdings Inc., a publicly traded consumer finance company focused on vehicle finance and third-party servicing.

"I have known Scott for many years, and his tremendous experience, proven track record, and unquestioned integrity will make him a great addition to our management team," Scharf said. "He's the ideal person to take on this new position as we seek to transform Wells Fargo so that high-quality execution, clear accountability, and operational excellence become unquestioned components of our culture. These elements are critical for us as we tackle our most important priority, regulatory remediation, and also create the foundation from which to build Wells Fargo and to best serve our customers."

Award-Winning Chemical Engineer, Dr. Karen Xiao, Joins Kwik Lok Board

Kwik Lok, an ANSI member and the originator of the bag closure designed to keep food fresh and safe, recently announced that Karen Xiao. Ph.D. has joined their Board of Directors. Dr. Xiao is an award-winning chemical engineer with more than 20 years of experience specializing in extrusion and structure-processing-property relationships.

Dr. Xiao received her B.A.Sc. in chemical engineering from the University of Toronto, her M.A.Sc., and Ph.D. in chemical engineering from the University of Waterloo in Ontario, Canada. "Dr. Xiao is an excellent addition to our Board of Directors with her in-depth knowledge of the industry and strong experience in innovation," said Kwik Lok CEO Don Carrell.
