The International Code Council (Code Council), a member and accredited standards developer of the American National Standards Institute (ANSI), has announced two additions to its leadership team.
Matt Sigler has been appointed PMG (Plumbing, Mechanical, Fuel Gas, and Swimming Pool Codes) executive director at the Code Council, effective July 6. In this role, he will lead a team of subject matter experts and business managers to advance strategic goals in support of manufacturers and stakeholders.
Mr. Sigler brings hasover 20 years of experience in construction, codes, and engineering. Previously, he served as the technical director for Plumbing Manufacturers International (PMI) for seven years. He has also served as a plumbing code development administrator for IAPMO.
Shawn Strausbaugh has been named lead of the government relations PMG team at the Code Council, serving as senior director of PMG technical resources. In this role, he will oversee the Code Council’s government relations PMG experts, working closely with Mr. Sigler to promote safe, effective, and affordable plumbing codes and standards.
Prior to joining ICC, Mr. Strausbaugh served as a commercial code official, a construction code official, and a building code official throughout townships in PA and NJ, as well as a construction plans examiner and construction plan review supervisor.
