ANSI Announces 2022 Dates for World Standards Week Events

8/04/2021

Mark your calendars! The American National Standards Institute (ANSI) has announced the 2022 dates for World Standards Week events.

May 17-20, 2022

Due to continuing health and safety concerns, the larger, celebratory events originally scheduled for World Standards Week 2021 will take place in-person on May 17-20, 2022. Events include the ANSI Leadership and Service Awards Ceremony honoring the 2020-2021 awardees, an issue-focused conference, and the U.S. Celebration of World Standards Day (WSD) with the theme, Standards for Sustainable Development Goals. The National Fire Protection Association (NFPA) is serving as the administrating organization for the WSD event. Additional details are forthcoming.

October 10-14, 2022

Looking ahead, World Standards Week 2022 will take place October 10-14, 2022, in-person in Washington, DC. All daytime sessions will take place at the Ronald Reagan Building and International Trade Center. The following October 2022 events, to be held at the Fairmont Hotel, have been scheduled, and the full WSW 2022 lineup is forthcoming:

  • Wednesday, October 12, 2022: ANSI Leadership and Service Awards honoring 2022 awardees
  • Thursday, October 13, 2022: U.S. Celebration of World Standards Day, with ICC serving as the administrating organization.

About World Standards Week

ANSI’s World Standards Week is a premier annual gathering that brings together ANSI members and private- and public-sector stakeholders from across the standards and conformity assessment communities.

The WSW 2021 fall events will be held virtually on October 25-29, 2021. With a focus on creating increased opportunities for engagement, the fall events will include virtual networking, greater use of video, and more two-way dialogue between presenters and attendees. Events will include:

  • ANSI’s member forum and policy advisory groups
  • ANSI’s Annual Business Meeting and All-Member Networking Event
  • The USNC National Young and Emerging Professionals Program soft launch
  • A special half-day event on October 28, hosted in partnership with UL and the U.S. Consumer Product Safety Commission. The event will bring the standardization community together to share best practices and methodologies for measuring the overall health and safety impact of standards.
