Sponsorship opportunities—including individual event tickets—for the 2022 World Standards Day spring event are available. A joint effort between the private and public sectors, the U.S. Celebration of World Standards Day (WSD) is an annual event recognizing the critical role of various stakeholders across the standards community, including business leaders, industry, academia, and government.
World Standards Day Spring Event: Standards for Sustainable Development Goals
The spring World Standards Day event (originally scheduled for October 2021) will highlight the theme, Standards for Sustainable Development Goals, and will be held in-person on Thursday, May 19, 2022, at the Fairmont Hotel in Washington, DC. The National Fire Protection Association (NFPA) will serve as the Administrating Organization.
The World Standards Day theme for the May event recognizes the crucial role that standardization plays in the United Nations’ Sustainable Development Goals – especially Goal 11, to “Make cities and human settlements inclusive, safe, resilient and sustainable” – and the partnerships and collaborations critical to achieving that vision.
The May event will also include the presentation of the Ronald H. Brown Standards Leadership Award to Ernest Grant, Ph.D., RN, FAAN, and current president of the American Nurses Association. In addition, the winners of the World Standards Day Paper Competition will be announced.
