ANAB to Host Cannabis Roundtable and Training Event

As part of its long-term effort to support safety, quality, and consumer health amid the continued growth of the cannabis industry, the ANSI National Accreditation Board (ANAB), a wholly owned subsidiary of the American National Standards Institute (ANSI), will host a roundtable and training event focused on various aspects of conformity assessment related to cannabis. The event will be held on May 9-13, 2022, at the Gaylord Marriot in Denver, Colorado. 

Panel Sessions and Assessor Training: May 9-10, 2022 

The events on May 9-10 are free, although advance registration is required. The first day will feature a lineup of expert panelists who will engage in a structured table discussion and field audience questions on topics ranging from regulations and compliance challenges in the cannabis industry to ANAB’s Cannabis Certificate Accreditation Program (C-CAP). On the second day, ANAB will provide training to its assessors on accreditation requirements and discuss ISO/IEC 17065, General Requirements For The Competence Of Testing And Calibration Laboratories, and its interconnectivity with the Cannabis Authenticity and Purity Standard 1.1 program for certification. 

Public Training Course on ISO/IEC 17025: May 11-13, 2022 

ANAB will host a training course for internal auditors on May 11-13. The course will provide participants with a detailed review of ISO/IEC 17025, General requirements for the competence of testing and calibration laboratories, and its application. Additionally, the course will cover how to coordinate a quality management system audit and how to collect evidence and document observations; tips and techniques for generating effective questions and active listening will also be shared. The cost of the training course is $950 and includes a copy of the standard. Advanced registration is required.
