ASTM International has announced that Mohsen Seifi, Ph.D. was promoted to the position of vice president of global advanced manufacturing programs. In this role, Seifi will head the global advanced manufacturing division and further the organization’s contributions to the field of advanced/additive manufacturing technologies.
Previously, Seifi was ASTM’s director of global additive manufacturing programs. He was instrumental in the launch of ASTM’s Additive Manufacturing Center of Excellence (AM CoE), and the center has seen significant growth under his leadership. Seifi is a globally recognized expert in process-structure-property relationships for metal additive manufacturing, and his publications have been cited more than 3000 times.
“ASTM International is the global focal point for research to standards in advanced manufacturing thanks to the vision and leadership of Dr. Seifi and the excellent global team that he has assembled,” said ASTM president Katharine Morgan. “While much has been accomplished, we are energized and even more excited about the opportunities ahead.”
IAPMO R&T, IAPMO’s third-party testing and certification body for plumbing, mechanical, and water treatment products, has announced that Anish Desai was promoted to the role of senior vice president of product certification. In this role, Desai will be more involved with industry associations and standard development activities and further his engagement with key clients, while continuing his work overseeing daily operation of the certification department.
Desai has been with The IAPMO Group for 19 years, beginning his tenure as a product review engineer. He then served as a quality assurance manager handling accreditation audits; most recently, he was in a management position for the certification department.
“Anish’s background, knowledge, and experience have served well in managing IAPMO R&T’s product certification services,” said Jin Luo, IAPMO R&T executive vice president. “With the promotion, Anish’s role will expand to further serve the industry and our customers, thus contributing to the continued growth of the organization.”
