People on the Move highlights the career advancements of high-level trailblazers working professionally in diverse areas of standardization, contributing every day to the strength and success of the U.S. standards and conformance community.
The Plastics Industry Association (PLASTICS), a member and accredited standards developer of the American National Standards Institute (ANSI), has announced a number of changes to its senior leadership.
Matthew Glaser has been named senior director, industry engagement. In his role, Glaser will serve as director for PLASTICS’ Processors Council. He is responsible for managing all activities of the PLASTICS Processors Council, enhancing member benefits while integrating broader association strategy regarding advocacy, communication, engagement, and sustainability into those activities.
“We are fortunate to have Matt join our industry engagement team here at PLASTICS,” said Ashley Hood-Morley, vice president of industry engagement. “Matt comes to us with an extensive association management background and vast experience leading committees, developing educational programs, and growing membership. We are excited to have his expertise enhance our total PLASTICS member experience.”
PLASTICS has also announced that Camille Gallo has been named director of communications. Gallo will be PLASTICS’ primary link with those seeking information, statements, and interviews, including all Washington D.C. press offices, media covering state and local governments, and the trade press.
“We sought a communications director with a strong background in strategic communications and found that person in Camille,” said Stephanie Strategos Polis, vice president of communications at PLASTICS. “Camille has worked both within and alongside the media, giving her a true insider’s perspective. Her seasoned experience combined with her extensive knowledge makes her an incredible addition to our PLASTICS communications team.”
Mónica Mancilla Cooke has been named senior director of human resources, PLASTICS. “We’re building a larger, top-flight team at PLASTICS—it takes someone with Mónica’s HR expertise to help us ensure the success of our professional environment,” said Matt Seaholm, president and CEO of PLASTICS. “Mónica brings a wealth of compliance, talent, recruitment and development experience that will help PLASTICS continue to grow and thrive.”
Charlotte Dreizen has been named director of sustainability and environment, PLASTICS. In this newly created role, Dreizen will conduct direct oversight of activities that encompass Operation Clean sweep (OCS), a program founded by PLASTICS and operated in partnership with the American Chemistry Council’s Plastics Division, in which companies that handle resin commit to protocols designed to help reach zero resin loss in operations. She will also lead the association’s efforts on educational programs and external efforts that prioritize the reduction of plastics in our environment.
“Charlotte’s focus area demonstrates the importance the PLASTICS industry places on eliminating plastic waste in the environment and on Operation Clean Sweep, specifically,” said Patrick Krieger, PLASTICS’ vice president of sustainability. “Our members want to be responsible stewards of the resources they use and the products they make.”
Mark O’Connell has been named vice president of government affairs, PLASTICS. Mark will lead all association efforts directed to Capitol Hill, the Administration, regulatory agencies and state/municipal governments nationwide, on behalf of PLASTICS member companies. He will also represent the PLASTICS Political Action Committee, and lead efforts to educate state and local policymakers as to the policy priorities of PLASTICS.
“Strong representation throughout the country begins with a strong presence in Washington and Mark’s vast experience makes him well positioned to represent PLASTICS,” said Seaholm. “Mark’s combination of Capitol Hill, federal agency, state legislative, and corporate government affairs experience will prove invaluable to our members. I’m thrilled to have Mark on board.”
Kaiser Permanente, a member of ANSI, has named Paul Minardi, MD, as executive vice president and chief executive officer of the KP Medical Foundation. In his role as EVP and CEO, Minardi will oversee the delivery of health care services and capabilities to medical groups in participating markets to support integrated delivery of high-quality, affordable health care. He will also focus on growth and furthering relationships with organizations in Kaiser Permanente’s other markets.
Minardi has served more than 36 years in medicine, most recently as the executive medical director for the Washington Permanente Medical Group. Prior to that, he served as executive vice president of finance and strategy for The Permanente Federation.
He will report directly to Kaiser Foundation Health Plan and Hospitals chair and CEO Greg A. Adams and sit on the KP Medical Foundation Board of Directors.
“Paul is an accomplished physician leader with proven experience in leading care delivery,” said
Adams. “We are confident that his leadership will guide the KP Medical Foundation to quickly and expertly support our Colorado and Washington markets in delivering on the mission of Kaiser Permanente.”
