People on the Move highlights the career advancements of high-level trailblazers working professionally in diverse areas of standardization, contributing every day to the strength and success of the U.S. standards and conformance community.

The American Type Culture Collection (ATCC) has announced the appointment of Scott Boller as its new chief financial officer. As CFO, Boller will work with executive leadership to manage external reporting and auditing requirements; oversee major contracts, forecasting, and budgeting of business operations; and serve as assistant treasurer of the Finance Committee of the Board of Directors.

Most recently, Boller was CFO at SOFIE, a molecular diagnostics and therapeutics company in Dulles, Virginia, focused on radiopharmaceuticals. Previously, he held roles at several software companies, including AOL and US Airways.

“We are excited to have Mr. Boller join us and contribute to the development and analysis of our financial and long-range operating plans,” said ATCC chairman and CEO Dr. Raymond H. Cypess. “With his unique background, strategic and diverse perspective, Mr. Boller will be a strong asset to ATCC as we continue to serve our diverse global customer constituencies and regulatory environment.”

“I have spent most of my career working in finance and accounting for various industries and am excited to now use my expertise at ATCC to support the future of life science and biotechnology,” said Boller. “I look forward to working closely with the executive leadership team to grow the company’s global footprint so that the scientific community can achieve incredible breakthroughs using our high-quality biomaterials and services.”

UL Research Institutes and UL Standards & Engagement has named Vasu Modekurti as vice president of information technology.

In his role, Modekurti will drive the organizations toward new technological capabilities by developing plans for the selection and deployment of information technologies and systems. He will also be responsible for creating and implementing mechanisms that proactively identify and mitigate technology and data security risks.

Most recently, Modekurti was the executive director of Enterprise Architecture at Trustmark, where he served as head of architecture for Baxter Healthcare’s Global Commercial Platform, digitalizing Baxter’s medical devices and building a commercial architecture function with capabilities spanning sales, marketing, and customer service. He held previous IT roles for Walgreens, Ajilon Consulting, and Mahindra Satyam.

“We are pleased to have Vasu join the organization’s leadership teams,” said Terrence R. Brady, president and CEO of UL Research Institutes and board chair of UL Standards & Engagement. “His deep experience and proven track record of leading transformation efforts will be highly valued as we enter this new era of growth of our organization.”
