Mentors Matter: USNC is Accepting Applications for 2023-2024 Professional Mentoring Program

6/30/2023

Apply by August 11

Need a mentor or want to be one who makes a difference? The U.S. National Committee (USNC) of the International Electrotechnical Commission (IEC) encourages individuals who are interested in joining the USNC Professional Mentoring Program either as a mentor or protégé to submit a completed application form by Friday, August 11.

The USNC mentoring program is an opportunity for emerging standards and conformity assessment professionals to enter into a one-on-one relationship with a more experienced member of the standards community for the purpose of retention, development, and overall success. The program will begin in September 2023 and conclude in June 2024.

Program participants are asked to hold, at a minimum, monthly calls with their respective mentor or protégé throughout the year.

Access additional details via USNC’s Young & Emerging Professionals webpage. Applications are due by August 11.

More Reasons to Join the USNC Professional Mentoring Program

Participation in the mentoring program helps foster the growth of emerging standards and conformity assessment professionals, enabling them to be successful in their endeavors, whether their goals are to take on leadership roles in U.S. or international programs, or to contribute as experts or delegates. Furthermore, the mentoring program helps to retain new standards and conformity assessment professionals and grow the pipeline of future leaders in the USNC.

“The Mentoring Program facilitates relationships across the standards and conformity assessment community and readies the industry for the next generation of leaders,” said Carrie Schmaus, chair, Young and Emerging Professionals Committee.
