As the U.S. member body to the International Organization for Standardization (ISO), ANSI encourages senior-level standards experts to respond to ISO’s request for proposal (RFP) for information to inform its “Optimized Deliverables” benchmarking analysis, intended to provide a deeper understanding of the diverse range of deliverables and the development processes proposed by various standards developing organizations (SDOs). Respond by August 7.
As the existing set of ISO deliverables has remained unchanged since 1998, there is a significant opportunity for optimizing their effectiveness in the current global landscape, according to ISO. To that end, ISO is actively seeking a consultant to conduct a benchmarking analysis on standardization processes and deliverables.
“New technologies, changing customer expectations, and the need to develop solutions to address urgent global challenges are putting pressure on ISO to adapt and accelerate its processes,” ISO reports.
“Timeliness is key—ISO must get standards deliverables to market quickly, and without compromising the quality of its standards, the rigor of its consensus-based processes, or the engagement of the experts from across stakeholder groups that develop standards.”
ISO is seeking individuals with extensive senior-level experience in the field of standardization and/or the utilization of standards by markets. Additionally, candidates with research profiles may also be considered as an alternative.
Insights will inform a comprehensive report that will serve as a valuable resource, providing a thorough assessment of deliverables, insights from relevant initiatives, and a clear understanding of performance gaps. It will guide the subsequent phases of the Optimized Deliverables project, facilitating the development of impactful proposals for enhancing ISO's deliverables and processes.
Access the RFP for the “Optimized Deliverables” benchmarking analysis and respond by the August 7 deadline.
