People on the Move

People on the Move highlights the career advancements of high-level trailblazers working professionally in diverse areas of standardization, contributing every day to the strength and success of the U.S. standards and conformance community.

The American Society of Baking (ASB) has announced the appointment of Sarah Day as director of education, a role focusing on ASB’s strategic vision to deliver training, development, and educational resources to its membership and the commercial banking industry at-large.

Day has experience serving audiences in both private and public sectors, from scientists in the life sciences industry to educators in the K-12 school systems in the U.S. and U.K. Most recently, Day was a training and accessibility consultant, and she created educational materials and training experiences on digital accessibility to ensure compliance with section 508 and style standards, utilizing adult learning principles and designing theory.

Her experience as a content developer and educator will help lead ASB into the future as it looks to utilize ASB’s existing technical content and the ANSI-accredited Z50 standards, for which Day will serve as the primary staff liaison to the ASB Standards Committee.

WellSpan Health has announced the appointment of Aaron Gillingham as senior vice president and chief people officer, effective September 5. Gillingham will serve as a key strategic leader focused on accountability for WellSpan’s human capital strategy by developing and executing a comprehensive approach to culture, inclusion, and workforce.

With more than 25 years of leadership experience, Gillingham’s previous position was as senior vice president and chief human resources officer at UnityPoint Health in Iowa. He also has additional leadership experience in retail and financial services, including Walmart.

“The chief people officer role requires a strategic and transformational leader who drives organization-wide change within a complex and rapidly changing environment, and Aaron brings the skills and experience to advance WellSpan’s human capital strategy,” said Roxanna Gapstur, president and CEO, WellSpan Health. “We welcome him to our team of 20,000+ strong at a critical crossroads in healthcare, and we are confident he will bring the thoughtfulness needed to navigate the challenges facing the industry.”

“WellSpan is a growing force, known across the nation on a number of fronts, from its innovative efforts to prioritize and reimagine workforce solutions to its initiatives focused on diversity, equity, and inclusion,” said Gillingham. “It’s an exciting time to be joining the organization and I look forward to developing close relationships with the team.”
