ANSI Launches Resource Webpage: The Impact of Standards

In its latest effort to showcase how standards impact nearly every aspect of human lifesupporting the safety and reliability of products, processes, and systems, and helping people work safely and efficientlythe American National Standards Institute (ANSI) has launched a new webpage: The Impact of Standards, featuring news, fun facts, illustrations, an ANSI news crossword, and more.

The new webpage includes several regularly updated sections:

  • Standards Behind the Headlines: ANSI takes a look at some of the standards that support innovative technologies, global challenges, and late breaking research featured in national and global headline news. Coverage includes how standards make a difference cited in the recent news articles: How Dangerous is Dirty Air? Study Reveals the Toll of Pollution on Human Life Expectancy, and Scientists Create 3D Printed Food with Software-Controlled Cooking.

     

  • Standards are Everywhere: From the cell phones in our hands to airliners in the skies—standards help everything work. With vibrant and fun graphics, ANSI illustrates how specific standards have a role across a number of industries, from energy infrastructure, to healthcare, manufacturing, and smart vehicles—and nearly everything in between. You can contribute too! Send ANSI an email with a photo or description of instances in your work, home, or any aspect of daily life where you see or imagine standards enhancing the world.
