The Building Performance Institute (BPI) recently announced the appointment of Amanda Hatherly as its next Chief Executive Officer.
In her new role, Hatherly will guide the organization in pursuing a vision where home performance businesses and training centers thrive; contractors and professionals find increased economic opportunities; and the nation's housing quality is enhanced.
Hatherly has 15 years of experience in leadership positions. She launched a training center for the Weatherization Assistance Program and led it to become the primary training and BPI test center for eight states’ Weatherization Assistance Programs and for several utility home performance programs. Recently, she managed the LEARN program, a California-wide free energy efficiency and electrification workforce education and training program, through Richard Heath & Associates, Inc.
Her previous work has been focused on creating equitable access for the home performance workforce to career opportunities in the energy efficiency space, especially to those in disinvested and low-income communities.
“Working with Amanda over the past 15 years has been a real pleasure,” said outgoing CEO Larry Zarker. “She has a deep understanding of how buildings impact the health of occupants and a genuine commitment to equity. I’m proud to pass the baton to her and look forward to what BPI will achieve under her leadership.”
“I’m very honored to join BPI in advancing standards, credentials, and quality assurance in the home performance and weatherization industry,” Hatherly said. “From my earliest days in the home performance industry, BPI has been integral to my growth and development, shaping my understanding of best practices and my commitment to energy efficient, healthy, safe, and durable housing for all.”
The National Council for Prescription Drug Programs (NCPDP) recently announced that Pooja Babbrah has joined the organization as executive vice president of strategy and industry alignment, in a newly created position.
Babbrah will further enhance NCPDP's relationships among regulatory and other standards development organizations to advance pharmacy initiatives that support better healthcare interoperability and care coordination, and ultimately improve patient outcomes.
As an industry leader, she has worked closely with Health and Human Services (HHS) agencies, including as the assistant secretary for the Technology Policy Office and for the Office of the National Coordinator (ASTP/ONC), Centers for Medicare and Medicaid Services, and for the Food and Drug Administration.
Recently, she participated as a subject matter expert on ASTP/ONC Health Information Technology Advisory Committee workgroups, including the Pharmacy Interoperability and Emerging Therapeutics Task Force, which identified recommendations that support interoperability between pharmacy constituents and the broader healthcare ecosystem, and the Interoperability Standards Workgroup (ISWG), which developed recommendations for new data classes related to medications for U.S. Core Data for Interoperability.
“It is an honor to find an outstanding individual who has an immense wealth of industry acumen, spanning both interoperability and the pharmacist's increasing role in patient health, and who closely aligns with our core values,” said Lee Ann Stember, president and CEO of NCPDP. “We are thrilled to have Pooja join our incredibly talented and experienced leadership team. With her support and our continuing growth, I am extremely confident in the future of NCPDP as we look to further connect the healthcare ecosystem.”
“I couldn't be more excited to join NCPDP and bring my industry experience to the organization,” said Babbrah. “I have a passion for improving the patient and caregiver experience through technology, policy, and standards and over the past few years have really started to focus on pharmacy initiatives in these areas to help improve patient outcomes. This role will allow me to focus on advancing these pharmacy initiatives that not only support the organization's vision and purpose but will allow me to impact the healthcare industry in such a meaningful way.”
