SAE International recently announced the appointment of Dr. Jacqueline El-Sayed as its new chief executive officer, effective January 6, 2025. El-Sayed will lead the association and its affiliate organizations the Performance Review Institute, SAE ITC, and their subsidiaries.
El-Sayed is a seasoned CEO with leadership experience across industry, education, and government. Most recently, she served as the chief executive officer of the American Society for Engineering Education (ASEE). She joined ASEE as chief academic officer, driving growth and alignment across all professional services, spearheading new business innovation and strategic operational plans while driving member community. Prior to ASEE, she was the chief academic officer and vice president for academic affairs at Marygrove College. She is a professor emerita of mechanical engineering and served on the faculty at Kettering University for 18 years, eventually earning the position of associate provost and AVP.
Launching her career as a truck engineer, El-Sayed chaired the Driver's Education Advisory Committee and the Motorcycle Safety Advisory Committee for the Michigan Department of State, and this work resulted in new bipartisan legislation for Michigan, among many other accomplishments.
She currently serves on the National Academy of Science, Engineering, and Medicine (NASEM) Roundtable for Systemic Change in Undergraduate STEM Education, the Engineering Research Visioning Alliance (ERVA), and on the boards of the Society of Manufacturing Engineers (SME) and the Women in Engineering Proactive Network (WEPAN).

On January 1, 2025, John Belcik will assume the role of chief executive officer (CEO) of the International Code Council (ICC). He succeeds Dominic Sims, CBO, who has served as the Code Council’s CEO since 2012.
As CEO, Belcik will oversee ICC, which has more than 700 staff and eight subsidiaries active in more than 100 countries.
Belcik has served as the company’s chief financial officer (CFO) and chief operating officer (COO) since 2009. He has extensive experience in strategic planning, operations, and financial management.
Prior to ICC, Belcik was the CFO for the Chicago Metropolitan Pier and Exposition Authority. Previously, he was a member of the management team at Wilson Sporting Goods for 20 years, serving in various roles of increasing responsibility, culminating in his position as vice president of finance.
