Project Management Institute (PMI) has released its annual list of the top 50 most influential projects.

The list features projects from around the world and across industries that have impacted society and achieved significant milestones over the past 18 months. This year’s list, sourced from input and recommendations from hundreds of experts, members, and stakeholders across the globe, highlights how the professionals behind these projects have kept their initiatives going in spite of obstacles caused by the global pandemic.

Projects on the list include:

• Iceland Contact Tracing, for halting COVID-19’s spread and demonstrating an alternative to lockdown
• Nightingale Hospital London, for creating an emergency care center for COVID-19 patients in nine days
• Kangaroo Island Recovery, for responding to wildfires and rescuing an Australian ecosystem
• Locust Impact Tool Kit, for protecting threatened food supplies in East Africa and beyond by using data
