IES Webinars to Cover 3D Printing, Dark Sky Considerations, and Other Hot Topics in Lighting

The Illuminating Engineering Society (IES) is holding three free webinars on Tuesday, February 9, on current topics of interest to the lighting community.

“3D Printing for Lighting: Why It’s Not Just Hype” will explore 3D printing in a circular economy, revealing the benefits and processes and how it impacts environment, structures, and community value. The webinar will be held from 2-3 p.m. EST.

“James Benya: Channeling da Boss” will feature guest speaker James R. Benya, a frequent and popular speaker in the lighting industry, offering his view of lighting standards, guidelines, regulations, consortiums, and other hot topics. It will be held from 4-5:15 p.m. EST.

“Design Lessons for Outdoor Nighttime Environments and Dark Sky Considerations” will give listeners an in-depth review of “dark sky” metrics and practices, as well as an overview of the organizations involved in dark sky research or design. It is scheduled for 6-7p.m. EST.
