ASABE Releases New Video on J.B. Davidson, the “Father of Agricultural Engineering”

4/05/2021

The American Society of Agricultural and Biological Engineers (ASABE) has created a new video on the life of Jay Brownlee (J.B.) Davidson, founder of ASABE.

Widely considered to be the father of agricultural engineering, Mr. Davidson created the world’s first college agricultural engineering department, supported the development of standards for farm equipment, and advocated for recognition of the profession by the U.S. Department of Agriculture, in addition to founding the organization that eventually became ASABE and serving as its first president.

Visit ASABE’s YouTube page to view the video, intended to be the first in a series of recorded ASABE oral histories. Learn more in the ASABE news item.
