MHI has published their 2021 annual industry report: “Innovation Driven Resilience: How Technology and Innovation Help Supply Chains Thrive in Unprecedented Times.”
The report highlights trends and technologies that have supported supply chains during the COVID-19 pandemic, helping supply chains to respond, recover, and thrive. Of supply chain leaders surveyed for the report, almost half reported dramatically increasing spending on digital technologies during the pandemic in order to make operations more responsive and forward thinking. Technologies that saw the biggest boosts in use included cloud computing, robotics, and inventory/network optimization tools. 83% of those surveyed believe that digital supply chains will be the predominant model within five years.
