The National Electrical Installation Standards (NECA) has published a new safety brief: “Hazards of Working on or Near Public or Private Hunting Lands.”
The document outlines the precautions that must be taken to reduce risks for those doing field work, including wearing an orange head covering over a hard hat and other bright clothing, making your presence known by talking loudly to coworkers, working in pairs, and utilizing a check-in system with employers if working alone. Many hunters practice good hunting safety, but taking additional precautions can help to further reduce risks in work areas.
