SFPE Webinar for Engineers: How to Network and Build Relationships

9/07/2023

The Society of Fire Protection Engineers (SFPE) will host a webinar on how engineers can build their communication skills to support a successful career.

“If you can learn to build relationships effectively, they will pay dividends and contribute to you being one of the best if not THE best manager in your firm,” SMPTE reports. “This is because relationships can yield opportunities nonstop for you and your firm including new business, new ways to expose your expertise to the world, and of course fulfillment and satisfaction in your career which is priceless.”

Anthony Fasano, PE, author of the book Engineer Your Own Success, will lead the session, geared toward recent graduates to mid-level professionals who want to improve their networking skills.

Learning objectives include being able to:

  • Define networking and its importance
  • Start building lasting relationships
  • Determine with whom and where to network
  • Identify relationship opportunities
  • Create a networking plan
  • Overcome low confidence and language barriers
  • Use social networking appropriately and effectively

Register for the webinar, to take place on September 12 at 11:00 a.m. ET, part of the SFPE Emerging Professionals programming through sponsorship of Senez Consulting to support emerging fire protection engineers.
