HSI’s Podcast Reveals Women in Safety Survey Results

1/04/2024

The Health and Safety Institute (HSI) has released the latest episode of its Accidental Safety Pro podcast, focusing on the results of a survey about women in environment, health, and safety roles.

Jill James, HSI chief safety officer, discusses the results with survey co-authors and podcast guests Monique Parker, vice president of EHS at Piedmont Lithium, Laynnea Miles, assistant vice president of EHS in the research and innovation industry, and Kristi McClure, marketing director, HSI.

Among the research findings, the authors found that while women make up almost 50% of the workforce in America, they make up less than 30% of the EHS workforce, and only 22% of certified safety professionals are women.

Access the episode on HSI’s podcast page.
