ICC Recognizes Building Safety Month

The International Code Council (ICC) has released resources including safety tips, promotional graphics, and lesson plans for elementary school students.

Building Safety Month is an international campaign that aims to raise awareness about the importance of building codes in assuring safety in the spaces people inhabit. The 2024 Building Safety Month theme is “Mission Possible,” which encourages people to get involved in all aspects of building safety. Each year, the Code Council, its members, and global communities celebrate building safety through proclamations, educational events, and community gatherings.

“Building safety should never be taken for granted,” said Code Council board president Stuart Tom. “By working together and spreading awareness of building codes and the role they play in ensuring safety in the built environment, we can protect the spaces where we live, work, play, and learn.”

Access resources, promotional materials, tips for hosting an in‑person Building Safety Month event, and more on ICC’s website.
