Registration Open: December 7 ANSI Virtual Meeting on Standardization and the Commercial Space Industry

ANSI announced today the opening of registration for its December 7, 2020, informational meeting, Standardization and the Commercial Space Industry – Space Situational and Domain Awareness, Space Traffic Coordination and Management, and Orbital Debris Mitigation. The purpose of the virtual meeting is to raise awareness of relevant policy and standardization activity relating to these topics and the growing commercial space industry, and to facilitate dialogue on coordination and participation in standards-setting.

Big Data Update: Series on Data Reference Architecture Released

A new five-part series of standards and technical reports establishes a big data reference architecture (BDRA) and framework, which organizations can use in order to achieve interoperability between BDRA systems. The ISO/IEC 20547 series was developed by ISO/IEC Joint Technical Committee (JTC) 1, Information Technology, whose secretariat is held by ANSI. 

Weekly COVID-19 Update: Guidance for a Safer Thanksgiving and Winterizing Outdoor Public Spaces 

The ANSI Federation and standardization community are stepping up with guidance, resources, and initiatives to support public health, safety, and infrastructure during the COVID-19 outbreak. Suggestions for news items may be submitted to pr@ansi.org. All submissions are published at ANSI's discretion. In this issue:

Putting a Lid on Climate Change with Sustainable Sanitation: ANSI Recognizes World Toilet Day 2020

As the United Nations' World Toilet Day drives awareness about the importance of toilets, and recognizes impact of the 4.2 billion people living without access to safely managed sanitation, ANSI, the U.S. member body to ISO recognizes several ISO standards that directly contribute to the 2020 World Toilet Day theme.
