ANSI Seeks Comment on Proposed New ISO Standard for Management Consultancy

1/29/2013

UNI, Italy's member body to the International Organization for Standardization (ISO), has submitted a proposal for a new international standard that would create guidelines intended to assist organizations providing management consultant services. As the U.S. member body to ISO, the American National Standards Institute (ANSI) invites all interested stakeholders to submit comments on the proposal by Friday, March 15, 2013.

According to the proposal, the standard would establish guidelines for the effective delivery of management consultancy services, while also providing clients with increased transparency. The standard would apply to all organizations providing management consulting services, including private-sector organizations and government agencies, and would be relevant to any sort of management consultancy assignment or client. The standard will not require the need for third-party certification and will not be designed to serve as the basis for any organizational or personnel qualification.

All comments on this proposal should be sent to Steven Cornish, ANSI senior director for international policy ([email protected]). Feedback received by the March 15 deadline will be reviewed and compiled for the recommended ANSI position and comment, which will then be presented to the ANSI ISO Council for formal approval.

The full proposal filed by UNI is available here.
