Supply chains are critical to economic resilience and the delivery of goods, services, and technologies across industries. As supply chains become increasingly interconnected, standards and conformity assessment play an important role in supporting traceability, provenance, chain of custody, security, interoperability, sustainability, and data exchange for physical and software products.
Across industries, stakeholders are addressing supply chain challenges through a range of standards development, conformity assessment, and related activities. While these efforts address important sector-specific needs, there may be opportunities to improve awareness of existing work and identify common challenges and areas for greater alignment.
ANSI invites interested U.S. stakeholders join the discussion and share their perspectives.
The effort is intended to be cross-sector and technology agnostic, bringing together stakeholders to identify emerging needs, lessons learned from existing sector-specific activities, standards and conformity assessment gaps, opportunities for greater alignment, and areas for future coordination. This approach reflects feedback that organizations are increasingly pulled into separate technology- and sector-specific discussions that often address similar challenges. That can be resource-intensive and makes opportunities for alignment harder to spot.
