ANSI and CSIS to Host Panel on U.S. Standards Strategy 2025

10/01/2025

ANSI and the Center for Strategic and International Studies (CSIS) will host a free public event on the forthcoming 2025 U.S. Standards Strategy, exploring how America’s private-sector-led standards system advances innovation, competitiveness, and national security.

“A U.S. Standards Strategy for the 21st Century” will be held on Friday, October 17, at 10:00-11:30 a.m. ET, at CSIS headquarters in Washington, DC. Virtual participation is also available. Registration is required.

ANSI president and CEO Dr. Laurie E. Locascio will deliver opening remarks on why the strategy’s revision is critical now—amid technology acceleration and an increasingly complex global landscape. A panel discussion moderated by Phillip Singerman, senior adviser (non-resident) at CSIS, and will follow, and include:

  • Dr. Laurie E. Locascio, president and CEO, ANSI
  • Patrick Hughes, senior vice president of operations and strategy, NEMA
  • Jason Matusow, general manager, Corporate Standards Group, Microsoft
  • Susan Miller, president and CEO, ATIS

About the U.S. Standards Strategy

Updated every five years, the U.S. Standards Strategy is our nation’s blueprint for standards leadership and international engagement. It guides how the U.S. develops standards and participates in international standardization, establishes a shared vision for the future, and articulates the value of private sector-led, market driven standards solutions.
