10/30/2026

Movers and Shakers highlights the career advancements and accomplishments of leaders in diverse areas of standardization, contributing to the strength and success of the U.S. standards and conformance system.

The American Society of Safety Professionals (ASSP) recently appointed Jim Nulsen as its chief innovation and growth officer. In his new role, he will oversee the sales and business development team as well as the standards development and technical services team.

Nulsen brings more than 20 years of experience building and scaling growth, partnership, and innovation programs in the safety, compliance, and SaaS markets. Most recently, he founded Growth Disco LLC, where he served as principal consultant and as fractional revenue leader for Ally Safety. Previously, Nulsen held leadership roles including head of partnerships for the Americas at Go1, vice president of strategic partnerships at Vector Solutions, and vice president of business development at Scenario Learning.

“We are pleased to welcome Jim to ASSP, where he will play a key role in advancing our growth, industry influence, and innovation by translating technical safety expertise and standards into scalable market solutions,” said Jennifer McNelly, ASSP chief executive officer. “As we continue to place strategic focus on reducing serious injuries and fatalities, we will be looking to Jim’s proven expertise and leadership to develop innovative, data-driven solutions that reduce risks and save lives in the workplace.”

The American Clean Power Association (ACP) has appointed Nedelka Phillips as its vice president of marketing. In her new role, she will build and lead the marketing function behind ACP’s membership, events, consumer audiences, and brand.

Most recently, Phillips served as senior director of global marketing for Promethean, where she led global marketing strategy and transformation across 20 international markets. Before that, she served as senior vice president at the United Way of the National Capital Area, overseeing marketing, brand, communications, and fundraising strategy. She also held leadership roles at the American Red Cross focused on consumer marketing and fundraising operations.

“Marketing has never been more important to how we shape our position in a rapidly changing industry landscape and advance our strategic priorities. It’s an opportunity to elevate our voice, deepen engagement, and build on the tremendous growth we’re seeing across the clean energy sector,” said Artealia Gilliard, ACP’s chief communications officer. “Nedelka brings the strategic discipline and operational depth to turn that momentum into measurable growth and revenue. She’ll be an important partner in advancing ACP’s marketing capabilities and impact.”

“ACP has an incredible opportunity to connect more people with the ideas, innovations, and communities shaping the future of clean energy,” said Phillips. “I’m excited to build a more integrated and measurable approach to marketing across our events, membership, and audiences.”
